Dwight Saxon, a retired Palm Beach County Fire Rescue firefighter, has left an indelible mark on the community by founding the First Responders Foundation. With a 30-year career in the fire service, Dwight Saxon’s firsthand experience has granted him a profound understanding of the challenges of first responders.

The First Responders Foundation provides therapy dogs to first responders as an essential mental health support resource. These specially trained dogs offer companionship, comfort, and assistance to first responders facing the challenges of PTSD, depression, and other mental health issues. Introducing therapy dogs into their lives aims to improve first responders’ overall well-being and resilience, who sacrifice so much to keep our communities safe.

Through fundraising events and strategic partnerships with local businesses and organizations, Dwight Saxon and the First Responders Foundation have substantially impacted the lives of First Responders in Palm Beach County by providing much-needed assistance. As a retired firefighter, Dwight Saxon’s commitment to First Responders is to give them therapy dogs free of charge.

 First Responders Foundation has undeniably transformed many lives, ensuring a valuable resource is readily available for those in need.

President / Director

Dwight Saxon / President of the First Responders Foundation has lived in Palm Beach County since 1955 and retired from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue with 30 years of service in 2007. Dwight has been Married to his wife, Connie, for over 48 years. They have 2 Children and 2 Granddaughters.

Iva Grady

Treasurer / Director

Iva Grady / Treasure has lived in Palm Beach County her entire life and has been a marathon organizer for over ten years in Palm Beach County. Iva loves playing golf, pickleball, running, and swimming. Iva has been involved in fundraising events in Palm Beach County for years and is an excellent addition to the First Responders Foundation.

Greg Rice

Secretary / Director

Greg Rice / Secretary was born and raised in Palm Beach County. Greg works with a company on commercials and marketing and loves what he does. Greg is well known not only in Palm Beach County but Worldwide. Greg has worked on many charities and committees for over 40 years in Palm Beach County.
